CORRIGENDUM: Junior Hindi Translators, Hindi Pradhyapak, Senior and Junior Translator Exam 2013

There was a printing error in the EQ for the post of Senior Translators and Junior Translator in Ministry of Defence in Para 5(C) of the Notice which may now be read as below:-

CORRIGENDUM : RECRUITMENT OF SUB-INSPECTORS IN DELHI POLICE, NCB EXAMINATION, 2013

Candidates may refer to the Notice of the above mentioned Examination published in the Employment News dated 16-3.2013. The following amendments in the notice mostly relating to Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police only are made :-
(i)
(a) The closing date for receipt of applications may be read as 19.4.2013 in place of 12.4.2013. (b)The date of examination for paper-I may be read as 23.6.2013 in place of 10.6.2013.
(c) The date of examination for paper-II may be read as 25.8.2013 in place of 18.8.2013.

(ii) In para 2 of notice, the heading “vacancy of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police” may be read as “vacancy of Sub-Inspector-Male in Delhi Police”. As regards vacancy of Sub-Inspector-Female in Delhi Police, the following is also incorporated in the aforesaid para:-

“Vacancy of Sub-Inspector-Female in Delhi Police”


(III) Below Note II (iii) of para 2, the following clause is incorporated:- “In case sufficient number of Ex-servicemen candidates under categories at (i), (ii) and (iii) are not available, the unfilled vacancies will be filled amongst other available Ex-Servicemen candidates”.

(iv) Note VI of para 4 (B) may be read as “The benefit of age relaxation available to Central Govt. Civilian Employees is not applicable to the post of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police”, in place of “The benefit of age relaxation available to Central Govt. Civilian Employees are not available to Departmental candidates of Delhi Police”.

(v) Age relaxation permissible to different category of candidates mentioned under codes 30, 31, 32, 33, 34 & 35 in para 4 (B) of the notice is modified as under:-
“Departmental Male/Female candidates for Delhi Police only: – Departmental candidates - Male/Female (unreserved, OBC & SC/ST) who have rendered not less than 3 years of regular & continues service in Delhi Police as on closing date can avail age relaxation beyond upper age limit upto 30 years (for unreserved - category code 30) 33 years (for OBC - category code 31) & 35 years (for SC/ST - categories code 32) respectively”.

(vi) Age relaxation for Sportsman of distinction of national/international level under category codes Nos. 36, 37 & 38 (for Delhi Police only) mentioned in para 4 (B) of the notice of examination stands deleted.

(vii) The following additional pt. 4 in Note of para 10(A) is incorporated:- “The relaxation in physical standards (height/chest), once granted at the time of initial appointment in Delhi Police will hold good till the individual concerned remains in Delhi Police.”

(viii) Relaxation in PST/PET for Male/Female Departmental & Ex-Servicemen candidates for Delhi Police only mentioned below the heading “(i) For male Departmental & Ex-Servicemen candidates and (ii) For Female Departmental candidates” of para 10(C) of notice stands deleted.

(ix) In Note-I in para 10(D), the following clause is incorporated:- “The Ex-Servicemen candidates for the post of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police have also been exempted from PET.”

(x) In para 9, the following Note (iv) below Note-III is incorporated:-
Note-IV : The Commission may prescribe, at its option, separate cut-off marks in interview for general and reserved category candidates.

(xi) The recruitment to the post of Intelligence Officer in Narcotics Control Bureau mentioned in the notice of examination stands deleted.

10. REQUIRED PHYSICAL STANDARDS FOR DIFFERENT POSTS.

10( A) : FOR THE POST OF INSPECTOR( CENTRAL EXCISE/EXAMINER/PREVENTIVE OFFICER/INSPECTOR & SUB-INEPCTOR IN CBN).

MALE CANDIDATES
(i) Physical Standards
Height 157.5 cms.
Chest 81 cms. (fully expanded with a minimum expanses of 5 cms.)

Height relaxable by 5 cms. In the case of Garwalis, Assamese, Gorkhas and members of Scheduled Tribes.

ii) Physical Test:
Walking : 1600 metres in 15 minutes.
Cycling : 8 Kms. In 30 minutes.

FEMALE CANDIDATES
i) Physical standards (Minimum)
Height 152 cms.
Weight 48 Kgs.

Height relaxable by 2.5 cms and Weight by 2 Kgs. for Gorkhas, Garwalis, Assamese and Members of Scheduled Tribes

ii) Physical Test :
Walking : 1 Km. in 20 minutes.
Cycling : 3 Kms. in 25 minutes.

10 ( B) FOR THE POST OF SUB-INSPECTOR IN C.B.I. :
a) Height
For men - 165 cms.
For women - 150 cms.
Height relaxable for Hillsmen and Tribals : 5 cms.

b) Chest :
76 cms. with expansion (There shall be no such requirement in case of female candidates)

c) Vision :
Eye-sight (with or without glasses)
Distant vision : 6/6 in one and 6/9 in the other eye.
Near vision 0.6 in one eye and 0.8 in other eye.

SSC Junior Hindi Translator and Hindi Pradhyapak Exam 2013

Staff Selection Commission notified examination for the recruitment of Junior Hindi Translators (in Subordinate Offices) and Hindi Pradhyapak (Central Hindi Training Institute). Interested candidates need to submit their application before 19th April 2013

Important Dates
Start Date: 1 April 2013
End Date: 19 April 2013
Exam Date: 2 June 2013

Educational Qualification
(A) For Junior Hindi Translators (in Subordinate Offices).
(i) Masters Degree of a recognized University or equivalent in English/ Hindi with Hindi/ English as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level;
OR
(ii) Bachelor’s Degree of a recognized University or equivalent with Hindi and English as main subjects (which includes the term compulsory and elective)

(B) For Hindi Pradhyapak (in Central Hindi Training Insutitute).
(i) Master’s degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at degree level either as compulsory or optional or as a language paper from a recognized university or equivalent.
(ii) Bachelor’s degree in Education from a recognized university, Institute & equivalent.
(iii) Two years experience of Teaching Hindi at Senior Secondary Level.

(C) For Senior Translator and Junior Translator (in Ministry of Defence).
(i) Master’s degree of a recognized university in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective
subject or as medium of examination at the degree level; or Master’s degree or a recognized university in English with Hindi as compulsory or elective subject or as medium of examination at degree level;
or
Master’s degree of a recognized university in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi or English medium and English or Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as medium of examination at degree level ;
or
Master’s degree of a recognized university in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi or English as a compulsory or elective subject or either of the two medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at the degree level:
or
(ii) Recognized Diploma or certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa or two years’ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Govt. Offices, including Govt. of India undertakings.

SYLLABUS
Paper-I:
a) General Hindi: 100 marks (Objective type)
b) General English: 100 marks (Objective type)
The questions will be designed to test the candidates’ understanding of the languages and literature, correct use of words, phrases and idioms and ability to write the languages correctly, precisely and effectively. The questions will be of degree level.

Paper-II:
Translation and Essay: 200 Marks (Conventional Type) The paper will contain two passages for translation-one passage for translation from Hindi to English
and one passage for translation from English to Hindi, and an Essay each in Hindi and English, to test the candidates’ translation skills and their ability to write as well as comprehend the two languages correctly, precisely and effectively.
